Honest answer or best guess at least. To early human perception as things rot, become unusable or even closer to death, they generally get darker. Black is as dark you can get.

I just love the idea of people battering one another with cheap and fragile Chinese TVs, I reckon half won't work once they get them home. A quarter probably wouldn't have anyway.

Sainsburys in Romford yesterday....very very undignified sadly (I was not participating - just trying to buy a sandwich but couldn't get in/stand the queues!). Going to watch 'Scrooge' later to try and get the festive spirit back.
